I pride myself on having a client-centered approach that emphasizes informed consent, respect, and personal autonomy.

My Services

Prenatal Care

I provide full-service prenatal care that monitors the health of both parent and baby while also creating a safe space for questions, education, and informed decision-making. My goal is to help you feel well supported, well informed, and confident throughout your pregnancy.

Labour and Birth

I provide postpartum guidance on recovery, newborn care, feeding, emotional wellbeing, and what to expect in the early weeks after birth. The postpartum period is a major transition, and education can make a real difference in how supported you feel.

Post-Partum Education

As a primary care provider, I provide one-to-one labour and birth support in both home and hospital settings. I work collaboratively with doctors and nurses to ensure safety, support, and patient satisfaction.

Ashley Reid RM, B. Sc, BA

I’m Ashley Reid, a midwife based in Vernon, British Columbia. I serve both Vernon and the surrounding areas, including Salmon Arm, Falkland, Lumby, Lake Country and communities near Kelowna.

I completed my Bachelor of Health Sciences in Midwifery at McMaster University in 2018, and have been welcoming life into this world ever since. I’m dedicated to providing informed, respectful and compassionate care through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. For many years after graduation I worked in Medicine Hat providing full scope midwifery care as Practice Lead for Midwives of Medicine Hat.

In addition to my clinical work, I have been a force for change in the world of midwifery, serving on the Board of Directors for the Alberta Association of Midwives since 2020, helping to grow and sustain the midwifery profession as a whole. I also have a deep commitment to clinical teaching and preceptorship, and regularly teach midwifery students as they complete community practicums.

As a parent myself, I understand how significant and transformative this experience can be and how important it is to have a trusted care provider help you navigate the transition into parenthood.

I hold midwifery licensure with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives and maintain current and ongoing continuing education requirements according to provincial and national standards. I offer offer safe, evidence-based, supportive care to the people I serve.
